Hi ㋡

I’m Damir. I have been levitating between technology and art for the last 20 years.

Not much is left of the first website I built around 2004.

Since then, I have completed the Business Information Systems program at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, Serbia.

I started working as a professional web engineer in 2016. Before that, I was focused on cultural activism and the promotion of alternative culture and art in my city, as well as my own music and performances.

Currently, I work as a web engineer at Rareview, focusing on the latest WordPress technologies and development methods.

I am also a dad, a husband and a bike enthusiast.

Places I've never been, buildings and streets I've never seen.

On my journey…

Unlike the PHP/ACF/SCSS (Sass) themes I’ve created in the past, this site is based on Gutenberg blocks and WordPress Full Site Editing (FSE). It was initially developed within the WP VIP codebase on Lando (Docker), using Composer, NPM build tools, and mostly while listening to the Boards Of Canada Special mix on NTS radio.

My latest project unrelated to Wordpress is Kaini, a Google Chrome extension which automatically detects and blocks YouTube videos with successive rapid scene changes. It’s designed to assist individuals with epilepsy or photosensitivity, parents safeguarding their children from fast-paced YouTube content, or anyone whose attention span or mental health is negatively affected by fast-paced youtube videos.

My average bike rides are 50-60 km, and max is ~110 km. I prefer to keep it recreational, exploring new places, nature, views, and experiences rather than pushing myself to the limits. Feel free to follow me on Strava.
